About

The University of Texas at Austin Grounds and Landscape department manages a diverse 900 acres across Main Campus, J.J. Pickle Research Campus, and satellite facilities. Landscape Services uses sustainable practices and equipment such as an organic compost and fertilization program, propane mowers, an ever expanding fleet of battery-powered equipment, and a central irrigation system that is constantly monitoring water flow.

The University of Texas at Austin has been honored as an Arbor Day Foundation Tree Campus Higher Education since 2008. We promote the urban forestry program on campus through various events, including annual Arbor Day celebrations, service learning events, and educational talks to campus groups.
