A program through Catholic Charities Community Services of Dutchess County, Friends of Seniors provides the following services:
Non-emergency medical transportation – non-emergency medical transportation for seniors including doctor visits, labs, physical therapy, dental appointments, dialysis, and surgical procedures
Grocery shopping – grocery shopping assistance either with or for the senior
Visiting – visiting with seniors who need some company
Telephone reassurance – telephone reassurance is a service provided by volunteers for the purpose of keeping isolated seniors in touch with the outside world. Calls are made at the convenience of both the volunteer and the older person.
Respite for primary caregivers
Van trips – regularly scheduled congregate shopping
