A great way to spend a Sunday. Best Buddies planned and setup a Halloween festival on the second of November. I volunteered with McCombs Diversity Council (MDC) where we had construction paper pumpkin cutouts that we let the buddies decorate using paint, markets, crayons, stamps, and stickers. Many of the buddies had a wonderful time and I enjoyed interacting with them as they were decorating their pumpkins.

I vastly enjoyed my time at Dell Children's Hospital making arts and crafts for the kids. We made pumpkin lanterns out of construction paper and pipe cleaners and also made masks using paper plates and construction paper. These two projects were a hit with the kids and hospital staff. The group I worked with, American Marketing Association, made extra samples for the hospital to use in later projects with the kids.
This was a wonderful event where volunteers such as myself welcomed the next incoming class of 2019 to campus. I worked directing parents and students to the Texas Union Center from the San Jacinto Parking Garage for my first shift. For my second shift, I directed families different buildings where the presentations were such as Jester for the engineering session. This was a great way to spend my Saturday morning and look forward to volunteering with the Office of Admissions again in the future.
