As artist, this was an invaluable experience to work firsthand with studio artist and gallery operators. I was mostly in charge of art sales and greeting the public as well as directing them to different studios. I really enjoyed taking part in the sale of artwork and talking with customers. This experience has made me more comfortable as a studio artist and the business of art.
It was very relaxing to volunteer for this event as it appeals to my artistic side. I worked with others making scrap packs, matching fabrics and creating cool palettes. I didn't even notice the hours pass by.
I collaborated with others to conserve energy by switching lights off in the Tarlton library. Together we switched off about 60 lights. This event helped me realized how much energy is wasted around campus, so an organization like this was very engaging.
I assisted with setting up the conference by organizing seats, drinks, and food. I also assisted with technical needs by managing headphones, translation equipment, and helped clean up after the event.
