The service project that out mentor group did was simple yet made a positive impact. We baked a few batches of cookies then went to the FAC to hand them out to the hardworking students preparing for their finals. We wanted to ease some of the stress the students were facing.
The conservation of resources, such as electricity and water, is a high belief I withhold because of the benefit it brings to the planet. The same idea of conservation can also be true for clothing, which is why I was glad to help out the University of Texas Campus Environmental Center in the Trash to Treasure Sale. The turnout for the event was better than I had expected as several individuals seemed eager to purchase gently used items for only a dollar. Although my part in the event was simply organizing the shoes, I feel that I still made a pretty good impact considering it helped buyers search for shoes.
