I was without a doubt entertained by the events, and I had a chance to impress some people with my problem-solving, I will say, however, it was very difficult being the referee for the "Connect 4" event as I was in agony knowing who had won halfway through the game until a new rule was established to speed up the game. I will remember this day as I finally tried RedBull, however, I had three cans within an hour in the morning. I was very helpful in the morning setting up and completing whatever task I was given throughout the day.
My expectations of this event were met and surpassed. I met with students who have brought up issues that I have never considered along with impressive solutions to handle the situation. I truly have very high expectation of what these students will achieve in the future. The event went very well, and I hope it continues to draw in, even more, students to learn about the roles withing the government.
Had a good time, I greeted and redirected people towards the Texas Union building. We even had a little performance every time someone passed by us as a way of greeting them to UT.
Gained the idea of having quick judgement and provide immediate assistant to individuals.
Why it did drizzel,I manage to think about rather I believed in the big picture or small details and I realized it does not matter, weeds need to be terminated.
Capital Area Food Bank. Had a pretty good time there, had a competition to see whose box would get filled first with food, filled out paperwork and had it shipped to the warehouse after wrapping it in plastic wrap. Downside, all that food made me hunger.
It was overall a fun experience, having met new individual, who were clearly well informed in the topic of government, however, there was a moment of disappointment regarding the enthusiasm of the participants, while a majority did participate, a few participants were not active in the discussion.
The skills I obtained are as follow: Obtaining and delivering documents to staff members, recording and evaluating participants, temporarily fill-in for staff members, Clean-up crew member, informed voters of elections, distributing ballots, retrieving and securing ballots.
I got to see the game with a lot of people, helped set up a lot of chairs and tables, replenish food for the game, and i even ended up winning a scarf as a prize for a trivia question, overall a fun time
I got to be the head runner, plus i had a real walkie talkie, or a radio, which was really cool, and I helped direct human traffic flow in the building.
