As part of the co-ed service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega, the university asked us to hold (extra hours of) SURE walk at the community event for Haruka Weiser, the FAC, and the PCL. I was more than happy to provide my time to ensure the safety of my fellow students and get them home safely. As a fraternity, we agreed on allowing more brothers of our chapter, boys and girls, to sign up and more places other than the PCL to give our time in cause of recent events.
I volunteered at the Trash to Treasure Sale from 8 AM to 2 PM in front of the FAC patio for the Campus Environmental Center. I helped organize and set up in the beginning. While the day progressed, I just made sure everything was moving smoothly, and things were presentable to the students shopping at the sale. It got messy, but I just made sure to go back to the tables to fold and display the shirts, jackets, pants, shorts, and shoes. I enjoyed my time volunteering, and there were no problems at all.
