It was fun getting to pack books with the other people there. Reading the inmate letters really made me feel like I was connecting with them, and emphasized how non-different they are from me.
Pulling weeds was hard work and it was very warm outside. Lily was nice enough to let me choose my own job and work at my own pace.
I had a great experience packaging books for prisoners. Getting to provide these people with something to keep them going is rewarding. Lots of other people were there too, and they were very nice. This will likely not be my last experience at Inside Books.
Helping to receive peoples' trees was fun, despite the physical labor. I got to experience a level of teamwork with the other volunteers that I rarely get to experience in day to day life.
I enjoyed getting the books to send to the prisoners. It was interesting getting to know what they were interested in and helping to supply their needs.
I got to do various garden tasks like weeding and digging.I helped someone with their individual plot. There was a potluck.
My experience at Inside books was enjoyable. It was always satisfying when I could fulfill the book requests I was assigned. The letters were written so politely, and it was a pleasure to read them. I would like to go back.
I had a good experience at the Community Garden. I got good exercise flipping compost, and I enjoyed helping someone weed their garden.
I helped weed the individual plots. It was good experience in learning how to identify weeds.
