On Saturday, October 27th, I volunteered with the Jeremiah Program at their annual fundraising event, Epic Battle. The day started at 7:30am and ended around 10:30pm. The tasks that I assisted with included setting up tiki torches, picking up lunch for all 40 volunteers, setting up luminaries, packaging the dessert for the 200 attendees, organizing the awards for the teams after the games, etc. I also helped with the final presentation by distributing awards and tossing a coin to determine who won the raffle. This was such an awesome event to be a part of!

This was my fourth night at the Jeremiah Program. My supervisor, Jessica, wasn't feeling well, so I helped the licensed social worker on staff facilitate the meal and child care for the women attending empowerment classes.
This was my third night at the Jeremiah Program. I helped set up the meal for those attending the empowerment classes, facilitate child care, and clean up when the night was over. I also put together a spreadsheet of potential activities to do with the children attending child care.
This was my first official night of service learning. It was also the first night of the empowerment courses the Jeremiah Program requires new moms to attend. My responsibilities included setting up dinner for the moms attending the class, and I helped provide child care for the infants in the program. At the end of the night, I helped clean up and store the left over food.
