It was a really good Saturday morning to have a ReStore. It was the perfect weather was not too cold or too hot to paint the house outside, and caulk.
It was the perfect weather for a great work day. We worked on multiple houses around the community from painting, to measuring and cutting wood for the roofs to applying tarp on the roof, to making fences and digging fence posts. There were plenty of volunteers and still so much to do.
It was a really nice time to relax and destress. This volunteer opportunity allowed me the chance to step back from all of the stress of academia and do something to help the community.
Shack-a-thon was a good volunteer opportunity. I really enjoyed being able to help build a shack while also raising awareness of affordable housing to people.
I had a really fun and nice time, covering the house with tarp and painting the house for this home owner. The task was very fun and it was made personal with the help of the homeowner.
Helped table for New Student Services in recruiting New Orientation Advisers for the 2015-2016 school year.
It was an amazing experience to see the many freshmen and first year students who attended orientation, to stop by and have an interest in the becoming an orientation adviser.
Helped UT18 students form the Longhorn silhouette for the class picture, for Horns Up Night.
