During the community event, I created care packages for the homeless individuals of the Austin area. It really put into perspective the small things I take for granted at times. Simple things such as toothbrushes and soap are used daily by me but I never stop to think that there are people that go days without these things.
Great time getting to register the families that attended. During the registration, handed out the raffle tickets and translated instructions into Spanish for non English speaking families.
During the several days of cleaning up the neighborhood areas, it was surprising to see how quickly trash accumulated within a short amount of time. However, it was nice to see how much of a difference cleaning up an area can make. Overall, it was a great and challenging experience to have endured throughout the week.
It was great getting to give back to the community and families who wanted family photos. Growing up, my family never did many photo sessions so it was a nice change to see many other families coming to lock in memories they can look back on. During the event, I carried photography equipment and even got to translate for Spanish speaking families.
During this period, we made care packages for the homeless and had other events that benefitted the homeless individuals of Austin.
I greeted the individuals that attended the event and helped them to their tables. The event made me appreciate a new culture as a whole and made some friends along the way.
