Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is a hindu celebration that signifies the victory of light over dark. I volunteered to help out with the rangoli booth, in which we used colorful sand or powder to create a design. I also helped with cleaning up and any other tasks that were needed throughout the night.

Impacts
I helped in the organization of the University's Diwali event. I helped get decorations and supplies together as well as any other jobs such as cleaning up for the day and painting/creating designs.
We volunteered to help a temple in any way we possibly could to host and mange a Diwali festival, also known as the Festival of Lights. This was a great opportunity to not only help a temple of my culture but to also make some great new memories in Austin.
We went to UT child Development Center to bring little kids lots of fun and joy by teaching them a bit about Indian culture through fun activities and games. It was really fun and I would not hesitate to do it once more.
I helped ICA spread Indian culture by volunteering to help sell Indian food out on West Mall.
