I got to walk a few dogs today and interact with them. It was so much fun being able to assist other volunteers in making sure the dogs were getting their daily dose of "happy" by taking them outside to play and run. It was also nice to bring them back inside and then add to their board how they're fun, lovable, and energetic dogs.
The career fair was a great experience for me so when I attend one later on down the road when I'm a student teacher I'll know what to expect. Seeing all the different opportunities that I'll be able to have later on in my future, let's me know that I need to be prepared and know what I want and how far I need to go.
Coming from a hispanic background this specific volunteer activity was fun to participate in. While volunteering not only did I help with decorations, but I gained more knowledge on why Dia de los Muertos has such a huge meaning to the community. I really also appreciated how everyone had so much passion for the holiday and really wanted everything to be perfect.
