Trick-or-Treat for Unicef was another fun experience. Three of us from my spirit group dressed up in our Halloween costumes and went door to door collecting donations for Unicef, rather than candy on Halloween night. I really loved seeing how willing people were to donate to help children in underdeveloped countries- it was very humbling. We had a very successful evening and raised a good amount of money for Unicef.
Hungry Bunch Halloween was such a fun experience. I was apart of a team of volunteers that spent the evening decorating and hosting a halloween party for the some of the teens at Dell Children's. I really enjoyed getting to see all of the kids dressed up in their costumes, decorating picture frames and spooky haunted houses, dancing to halloween jams with their friends, and being able to get out of the hospital setting for a fun evening.
Thon Pancake Night was another fundraiser for the children at Dell Children's. For this event, I participated in a pancake eating contest. All of the proceeds for this fundraiser went directly to the families at Dell Children's.
The Penny Wars fundraiser benefitting the children at Dell Children's here in Austin was such an enriching experience. We were addressing quality of life issues for children and their families battling cancer and blood disorders and 100% of the proceeds that we raised during our week-long fundraiser went directly to the children and their families.
