I was able to go to each tailgate group in my designated area with my group and hand out recycling bags to the tailgaters, informing them of the importance of recycling and instructing them on how to use their recycling bags in the most efficient way.
During the clothing drive, I was volunteering to interact with the guests and make sure they were enjoying their time and making conversation with them. I learned a lot about some of the people there, and I was surprised to hear about all their different interests and backgrounds, as well as their talents. It definitely opened me up to another side of Austin that I tend to overlook or forget about.
My group went to the different tailgate groups around the LBJ lot to inform them about our recycling initiative. We interacted with each group, gave them a recycling bag, and recited the instructions on the proper use of the bag, such as what was and was not recyclable. Each tailgate group was very appreciative and our group received many 'thank yous' for our initiative.
