It was wonderful to see the girls getting hands on experience designing from concept to wireframing. I thought it was really well executed.
Lake cleanup led by Linda McCoy is always a blast!
Always enjoy doing this with the kids.
It was great to see so many girls interested in tech. Keep up the good work.
I spent 4 hours at Explore Engineering Day showing kids how to create towers that can withstand earthquakes. The materials that were used are pipe cleaners and straws, and we created an artificial earthquake simulation by shaking a table.
Explore UT is where UT students and faculty facilitate workshops/ events for K-12 students in the hopes to spark their academic interests. I volunteered in the TAME Trailblazer trailer and taught electricity, magnetism, and aerodynamics to the children that came through. (verified by Tricia Berry: email@example.com)
Volunteered for Explore UT (otherwise known as Texas's largest open house) with The Society of Women in Engineering. During the event, I helped get kids excited about pursuing engineering through hands-on activities such as designing effective yet aesthetic hover-crafts. I also helped sell snacks to help fuel the brain.
Showing aspiring college students what engineering is about is a great experience!
I volunteered at Take a Girl to Engineering Day! I volunteered with IEEE and helped with the Hydraulic Pressure science demos! It was very fun helping elementary school girls understand the power of pressure and how it operates the modern machinery in construction.
