I volunteered at Micah 6 Food Pantry where I helped operate the pantry and assisted with sorting and other needs. It was a great experience interacting with the local church and homeless people and I hope to continue to do more volunteering in my next 3 years at UT.
Took vital signs of patients, weighed children, took blood pressure. and inquired about and recorded patient symptoms. Began Volunteering at 9 am ended at 5pm.
The first part of the day I presented a skit advocating healthy habits to the children waiting in line at the clinic. In the second half of the day I helped at the dentist station with extractions and fillings. We arrived at the clinic at 9 am and left the clinic at 5pm.
The first part of the day I assisted in the pharmacy.I would collect the prescribed medications for each individual that came through the clinic. The second part of the day I listened in to the patient consultations given my the Honduran doctors. We began the clinic at 9 am and left the clinic at 5pm.
Assisted in the Gynecology Station of the Free clinic that we set up in the Honduran School. We arrived at 9 and left at 5pm.
