About
Focusing on Austin ISD's schools located in under-resourced communities and serving predominantly economically disadvantaged students, Austin Partners in Education recruits volunteers for academic and mentoring programs. In the 2020-21 school year, APIE requests volunteers for the following programs:
- Middle School Math Classroom Coaching: Volunteers in the classroom work weekly with a small group of two to four students to help increase understanding of and academic self-confidence with math. By supporting them in middle school math, you help to put them on track to succeed in high school algebra.
- Mentoring (middle and high): Volunteers work one-on-one with students during the school day to help students improve their social and study skills, strengthen their communication skills, and build self-confidence.
