About
Since 1889, The Salvation Army Austin Area Command (TSA) has been the reliable safety net for local families, women, and children experiencing homelessness. Our shelters are designed to guide clients back to self-sufficiency and break the cycle of homelessness. The typical stay in shelter is four to six months, during which residents learn new skills, stabilize finances, and transition to safe housing. Wraparound services include comprehensive case management, counseling, employment assistance, housing navigation services, rapid rehousing, housing financial assistance, childcare vouchers, and academic support services for children.
