United Way of Rhode Island is looking for volunteers to be a part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. This essential program ensures that working Rhode Islanders with low to moderate incomes are able to receive the tax help that they need in order to successfully complete their tax return.
If you have specialized knowledge of taxes or tax preparation, or would like to learn how to effectively and accurately complete a tax return, you should apply to be a volunteer tax preparer for VITA. Providing tax preparation services to those in Rhode Island who most need your assistance will in turn help you develop those analytical skills at the same time as you benefit your community.
This program is a great opportunity to give back to the Ocean State, and to develop more proficiency in the financial services sector. Volunteers will be provided with free training at convenient times, and can choose to become IRS certified tax volunteers.
Tax return preparation services can be costly and very difficult to access for many Rhode Islanders. This program provides you with a unique opportunity to develop skills that you can use to advance your career, at the same time as you make a profound impact for the better in the lives of others.
