United Way of Rhode Island is looking to recruit volunteers for essential non-technical roles with our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. VITA programs ensure that working Rhode Islanders with low to moderate incomes are able to receive the tax help that they need to organize their financial lives.
Do you have a good working knowledge of another language (Spanish preferred, but all languages accepted) in addition to English? You could be the perfect candidate for a position as an Interpreter at one of United Way’s VITA sites! This position does not require any technical expertise or specialized knowledge of taxes, and is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in translation and program facilitation, while giving back to your local community. Training for this program is offered online or provided for free at flexible hours.
The VITA program makes an incredible difference in the lives of the most vulnerable members of Rhode Island’s community. This program represents an excellent opportunity to develop your skills, while serving as an integral part of a project that is essential to the financial wellbeing of the Ocean State.
