International Office, Room 118
Reason for workshop request
To provide an introduction to growth vs. fixed mindset and resiliency to 17 Saudi Arabian students participating in the International Office's Foundation Year--a nine-month "gap year" program to prepare students for success as undergraduates studying in STEM fields.
Any additional information
If possible, it would be very helpful if the workshop was focused on coping with academic failures/rejections (e.g., not getting admitted to a certain school or major, failing or performing poorly on a test, etc.). As the group is comprised of international students, there may be some reticence when it comes to openly sharing/talking about recent failures and disappointments. While I hope this workshop helps to normalize disappointments/failures for them, I'm not sure how willing the students will be to share their own failures/rejections/disappointments in an open forum
