About
Volunteers will help the Sam Rayburn Drive Neighbors prevent crime from coming back to their cul-de-sac located one block from the interstate by taking part in a cleanup.
Mostly low-income and English language learners, the street residents organized after the Austin Police Department's community policing efforts reduced violent crime by 44.44% between 2012-2013 and 2014-2015 on the street as part of the Restore Rundberg neighborhood revitalization initiative. They organize community events every other month, and aim at keeping their street clean, since a well-kept neighborhood is less likely to be the victim of crime.
