Mulching the trail: Central Williamson Creek Greenbelt

Saturday, September 24th, 2016 from 9:00am to 12:00pm (CT)

We are implementing Phase 1 of our big Neighborhood Partnering Program grant, creating a .75 mile recreation/nature trail along Central Williamson Creek! This will eventually connect to trail projects upstream and downstream, creating a beautiful East-West hiking and biking trail with pocket parks and community gardens along the way. You want to be part of this!

We need 200 people who can place cardboard weed barrier, shovel, move wheelbarrows and spread mulch. We will put together teams of 8-10 to tackle each "pile" (40 yards) of mulch in a given section. We have done this before and we really can knock it out in 3 hours if we get enough volunteers! We may need a few people to remove small stumps and some rocks but it's flat and mostly clear already. Thanks PARD!

If you are able: Please bring a wheelbarrow, transfer shovel, and hard rake. If physically demanding work isn't your thing, we could use help setting up, cleaning up, working the registration table and refilling water jugs. We welcome all ages and all abilities! It's OUR park. :)
