Description
This winter, Austin Park Rangers will be conducting grassland bird surveys at Indiangrass Wildlife Sanctuary in support of restoration work currently under way. Many of our wintering birds rely on high-quality prairie for food and shelter, and these surveys help us to evaluate the progress of our restoration work.

The surveys will take place over November and December of 2019 and January and February 2020, and we are looking for volunteers to help run them. This training will familiarize participants with the preserve, the survey protocol, and a crash course in identifying "little brown birds" (though some prior experience would be a big plus).

Please email Owen.Moorhead@austintexas.gov with any questions and thanks!
